The tide recedes, leaving the shells behind, The footprints vanish on the dampened sand. A salty wind whispers to my mind, "This shoreline's done, a new horizon's planned." I shed the weight of anchors, barnacle-kissed, And plunge into the ocean's vast unknown. Though fear may rise, and futures may be missed, This empty beach will never be my home.
