Invisible Lessons

1 min read

Nobody sat them down — and explained fear.

Nobody sat them down
and explained fear.
No lesson was needed.
Fear introduced itself
through routine.
Through footsteps.
Through expressions.
Through voices
that changed
without warning.
Eventually,
their nervous system
stopped waiting
for permission.
It anticipated.
Prepared.
Adjusted.
Long before
anything happened.
This wasn't weakness.
It was intelligence
forced into overdrive.
The remarkable thing
is that the same mind
that learned survival
can also learn rest.
Not overnight.
Not perfectly.
But steadily.
