"Carry This Cross"

Verse 1 — I walked through the fire with nobody near,
Verse 1
I walked through the fire with nobody near,
Just a prayer in my chest and my hands full of tears.
They loved what I gave, but they never knew me,
They reached for my crown, never cared for my story.
They smiled in my face while they counted my blessings,
Saw the light on my life and called it a weapon.
They wanted the fruit but ignored the roots,
Wanted my harvest but never my truth.
Pre-Chorus
So I learned to be silent when the room gets loud,
To bow my head lower when they doubt me now.
The road gets lonely, but I understand—
The Shepherd still walks where I stand.
Chorus
I'll carry this cross even if I bleed,
Even when nobody stands with me.
The world took pieces, but it couldn't take my soul,
'Cause God is the hand that still holds me whole.
When the doors all close and the night won't end,
I found a Father inside the storm I was in.
They can chase my gifts, they can take their shot,
But they'll never own what God has got.
Verse 2
I was the answer they called when they needed saving,
But disappeared when my heart was breaking.
I poured out rivers, they left me dry,
Then questioned my strength when they watched me cry.
But pain became the place where my faith grew deep,
Every scar became a testimony I keep.
The same stones thrown to bury my name
Built a mountain where I praise His name.
Bridge
No army beside me, no crowd singing loud,
Just me and the heavens beneath this cloud.
I lost what was false, and I found what was real,
A God who stays when the world walks out.
So let them talk, let them misunderstand,
My life was never held in their hands.
The cross is heavy, but my spirit won't break,
Because every step is a step of faith.
Final Chorus
I'll carry this cross through the valleys below,
Through the tears that nobody else will know.
I don't need applause, I don't need their praise,
I've got a light that survives dark days.
They wanted my gifts but ignored my pain,
Tried to steal my sunshine while avoiding the rain.
Now I walk with God, and that's enough for me—
A lonely road, but a soul set free.
Outro
If I stand alone, then I stand with the King,
And that's more than a crowd could ever bring.
My heart has a purpose, my wounds have a cost—
So I'll keep walking… carrying this cross.
