Be careful. Not every quiet soul is abandoned. Some have simply grown so accustomed to the company of silence that even the darkness learned to speak their name with respect. You judge worth by applause, by crowds, by followers gathered beneath borrowed light. You call that power. How unfortunate. For there is another kingdom your mirrors cannot reflect. One where names are whispered instead of shouted. One where loyalty is earned through surviving nights that would have taught lesser hearts to beg for daylight. Some become famous in the world. Others... become known by what watches the world. The first crave witnesses. The second need none. You mistake gentleness for defenselessness. That has always been the favorite mistake of wolves who've never met an older predator. There are souls who have buried so many versions of themselves that fear itself could no longer recognize them. Threaten them. Lie to them. Gather your voices like crows upon a dying tree. They have already survived storms your imagination could never endure. They learned long ago that solitude is not loneliness— it is a sanctuary where the unseen keeps faithful company. Mock them if you wish. Play your little games. Twist truth until even your own reflection begins believing the lie. But understand this... Not every battle is answered by the one you challenge. Some prayers never echo. They arrive. And what answers rarely introduces itself. The strange weight that settles over your house. The sleep that forgets your name. The silence that suddenly feels occupied. The certainty that someone is standing just beyond the edge of every room— perhaps guilt. Perhaps memory. Perhaps something your language was never meant to describe. Do not ask. Especially if you would hate the answer. Because there are souls whose purpose was never to continue the curses written over their blood. They became the sentence where generations found their period. The chain-breakers. The ones who walked willingly into inherited darkness and returned carrying keys. You see only one heartbeat. They carry the strength of every ancestor who refused to surrender forever. Do not assume those who came before them were all gentle. Mercy is often inherited. So is wrath. The kindest hands have, throughout history, been protected by the fiercest guardians. That is why the quiet deserve your caution. Not because they boast. Not because they threaten. But because they don't have to. There are promises that never leave human lips. Only consequences... that arrive exactly when invited. So if you insist on waging war against someone whose only crime was choosing peace— pray... that peace is all that chooses to answer.
