If I Don't Make It
2 min read
If you are hearing my voice, — then understand this was never written
If you are hearing my voice,
then understand this was never written
to make you fear the world.
It was written
so you would never surrender your own mind to it.
I don't ask you to believe every word I've lived.
I ask you...
to remember that your mind belongs to you.
Question the voices
that tell you not to question.
Question the love
that disappears the moment you disagree.
Question the fear
that only exists to keep you standing still.
Real truth has never needed a hostage.
Real love has never demanded blindness.
Real freedom has never been afraid of honest questions.
I am still trying to leave.
Every day.
Some days I gain ground.
Some days it feels like the walls learned my name.
I don't know how my story ends.
Maybe I walk into the sunrise.
Maybe my footsteps stop before they ever reach it.
But if that happens...
don't let my voice stop there.
Carry the lesson instead.
Not my conclusions.
The lesson.
Never let another human being
become the author of your thoughts.
Never hand someone else
the pen that writes your reality.
Question me.
Question everyone.
Especially those
who tell you questioning is forbidden.
Because truth survives examination.
Control fears it.
If I disappear tomorrow...
don't build a monument.
Build discernment.
Teach your children
how to think...
not what to think.
Teach them that love
doesn't erase identity.
Teach them that kindness
never requires surrendering conscience.
Teach them that courage
is sometimes nothing more
than whispering,
"I don't think this is right,"
when everyone else insists it is.
If my work reaches you,
then it has already outlived me.
And if even one person
finds the courage
to reclaim the voice they thought they had lost...
then every word was worth writing.
Not because I was perfect.
Not because I had every answer.
But because somewhere,
another soul remembered
that freedom begins
the moment you realize
your mind
was always meant
to be your own.
