🌱 The Garden

poem

She does not arrive.

2 min read

She is noticed. — Like the first crack of lightning

She is noticed.
Like the first crack of lightning
before anyone hears the thunder,
she alters every room
simply by deciding to stand inside it.
Her hair carries the color
of wheat just before harvest—
gold enough to make kings nostalgic,
wild enough to remind them
crowns were never permanent.
Men rehearse confidence
until her eyes meet theirs.
Then suddenly,
they remember every lie
they've ever told themselves.
She was never cruel.
Truth simply follows her
like perfume.
Women don't hate her.
Not really.
They hate the mirrors
she accidentally creates,
the quiet questions blooming
where certainty once lived.
Because beauty like hers
doesn't ask to be admired.
It demands honesty.
She walks with the calm
of someone who has survived
being misunderstood
more times than she has been loved.
She has learned
that flowers are picked,
diamonds are stolen,
and galaxies are studied—
yet none of them
ever apologize for existing.
There is something dangerous
about a woman
who never has to announce her worth.
Mountains don't.
The ocean doesn't.
Neither does she.
Her smile is rare enough
to become folklore.
Her silence
has started more conversations
than gossip ever could.
She knows exactly
how beautiful she is—
not because mirrors told her,
but because she watched
people become entirely different versions
of themselves
the moment they believed
they had a chance.
Some grew gentler.
Some became poets.
Some became monsters.
Beauty never changed them.
It only removed
their permission to pretend.
And she...
she kept walking,
gold flowing behind her
like the last light of evening,
never chasing attention,
only carrying the strange burden
of looking
like heaven remembered
how to wear human skin.
